This shop is still small but trying to grow and gain a loyal customer base. Their goal is to have their own storefront but the shop isn't busy enough to have a full time staff. I'm reading these reviews saying that they want to support their local shop but then trash it in their review because it doesn't meet their expectation. Wizards of the Coast doesn't give them first pick of stock since they are a smaller shop and have only been around for about a year. So the more support the shop gets the better the stock will become. I've been in the shop when some of these people have come in. Most of the people giving bad reviews are looking for something very specific that is either brand new or hard to find in stock. And the one review saying they didn't place his order is just mad because he can't find it. He's come into the shop on multiple occasions and the staff has told him that their supplier doesn't have it available. Not that they didn't order it. Right now the only reason the shop is able to exist is because the vape shop up front picks up the slack financially. That's the only reason they are in the same place. The county doesn't allow them to use the rear door as an entrance for the game shop, which was the original plan. Until it's able to be relocated to its own storefront, they are forced to use the vapeshop for the enterance.
I was looking for a shop that still ran Pathfinder 1e instead of 5th edition, though I'd end up having to drive all the way to Annapolis but I lucked out with these guys. The vape shop out front was a little weird at first, but it's worth it just to have a local place to come in and play games when I have nothing better to do. They don't seem to be geared towards any one game in particular, though I've often come in and seen people playing magic on the week days. Wish they opened a little earlier, but honestly I'm not even off of work til 4 most days, so it's never been a problem. Have high hopes for these guys and so far I'm not disappointed!
It was is the first game store Ive ever just noped out of. At first I didnt I was in the correct place. The large vape shop sign far overshadowed the "game store" aspect of this closet. Upon opening the door I had a series of thoughts. The first was "wow. Was this in a scene in mall rats?" Second was that its probably a game store for running friday night magic and nothing else. Lastly was a feeling. Somewhere between the apple2e "manhunter" scene with the glass in your eye and being offered to purchase a third hand swatch. I'll call it a pass.
