Dad's Basement

I really wanted to be a regular here, as it is my local shop, but I keep having bad experiences here. My first few packs of cards I purchased here all had small dents on the side like the booster box was damaged. And lets talk about the store hours. I have been trying to visit this store during posted hours 7 separate times in the last 2 months. I was met with a notes saying "be back at 4pm!" (it was 5pm) to them just being closed. I walk here because it is close enough but what a waste of my time. But all this leads me to today when I finally caught them actually being open. I walk in and I see someone sitting down to the side of the counter. He greats me, I start to show a Pokemon card I was looking to trade/sell. I ask "if they might offer on Pokemon cards" and he says "yeah, but not that one" not even getting out of his chair probably about 15 feet away from me. I understand not offering on the card but the lack of respect to not even get out of the chair and take 2 seconds to look at it was not a good look. I will no longer be attempting to patron this shop and I do not recommend it to anyone.

We had an incredible experience here. They were upfront and honest about buying Pokemon cards. They explained why they wanted to purchase certain cards and based on our research gave us fair prices. I would highly recommend this store for selling cards. They also had a nice selection of a variety of collectible items like signed CDs, signed helmets, etc.

Took my whole collection here, had my rares separate from my commons…or so I thought; while thumbing through the collection they found a card that was worth a decent amount. Instead of adding it into the commons they were compiling and saying nothing, they pulled it out and told me its value. Because of their honesty, I gave them the card at a decent price. The fact that they were honest and didn’t try to just get one over on me has made me a customer forever. They gave me more than fair prices on the rest of my cards they purchased as well and everyone left happy that day. I definitely recommend going here if you’re looking to sell and get honest prices. Definitely will be returning!
