I have been to most stops in Tacoma, and this is by far one of the best ones for buying MTG cards. Their website is up to date on what they have for singles, and i can always know they will have at least some of what i need to make a commander deck, including a lot of common's and uncommon's. I have not sat down and played here because i play with a home pod, but the staff have always been friendly to me. Usually they will have sealed in stock as well even if other stores don't.

I'm brand new to Magic: The Gathering, and Elegant Octopus has been the perfect place to start my journey. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I came in because of the Final Fantasy deck that’s what initially drew me in and they took the time to explain different playstyles, how MTG works, and how it compares to other card games I’ve played. What really stands out is the welcoming community they've built. Other players have been just as supportive helping me understand my cards and offering tips during games without ever being condescending. I always look forward to Friday Night Magic here. Whether you're new or experienced, this is a great shop to be part of.
