Endangered Hobbies
Welcome to Endangered Hobbies! Your home for Cards, Funko, Anime and more!
When I travel for work, I always look for stores that sell Pokémon cards and I look for unique things to bring back for my kids. Endangered Hobbies conveniently happened to be less than a mile from my hotel. After a quick call to confirm their hours, I stopped by to check it out. The store carries a wide variety of card game merchandise. I can’t speak to everything they offer, but I was able to find some cards with their Pokémon selection—especially considering the current supply and demand challenges. They had a solid mix of singles to sort through, which made for some fun card hunting… I had no place to be so why not. The real highlight, though, was the owner, Richie. He is genuinely passionate about Pokémon and spent hours talking with me about all kinds of topics: gameplay rules, strategies, card usage, deck building, and even local resources where I could get my kids more involved in the Pokémon Academy. He shared insights I didn’t even know about, and his knowledge was outstanding. On top of that, he helped me track down cards to start building a Gym Leader deck. I truly appreciate the time he took, and I highly recommend this store for all things Pokémon. If you need advice or just want to connect with someone who loves the game, Richie’s your guy. Good luck at Regionals, Richie!

Look maybe I was mistaken in what this store is about but if you have a giant statue of a character from Dragon Ball Z at the front of the store then I don’t think I’d be that out of line to think that it could be a place that would carry Gundam model kits. You know something that’s another Anime inspired hobby? If you don’t carry them fine. But when I asked if they had any the guy that was working rolled his eyes and responded with a “ugh….no”. And then walked away. Awesome service. No wonder this place was a ghost town. On top of the crap service, everything people say about the clutter and the loose floor boards are 100% true. I had ankle surgery a few months back so I’m still hobbling around a little bit and I definitely almost tripped a few times. There was a dog that was running around the store, which I’m fine with, but the owner of the dog was just screaming at him the whole time while playing a card game rather than getting up and taking care of the issue they were having with him. If you like pretentious employees who talk down to their customers, tripping hazards, screaming and the scent of un washed armpits then you’re in luck. Otherwise stay away.
I gotta be honest, Endangered has gone downhill hard since the mall days. The place smells and there are dogs that piss on the floor for some reason. They say the dogs help with anxiety but I've seen players feel really uncomfortable with the dogs. The place is a ghost town on fridays, unless there is a anime showing or people playing video games loudly, which is distracting to those trying to play a game. It's no surprise much less people are showing up. I went to a nearby store and met a new player who said he was ignored here when trying to purchase something, and would not be going back. The owner really thinks he's all that, and I don't get why. Sometimes it's hard for customers to even know who to talk to, workers tend to sit and play games and are not attentive, which they really need to be if they aren't even going to wear a uniform. It's too bad, it just feels like management doesn't care or gave up. And this is without even going into the scalping they did on the Tarkir commander decks, they didn't display prices which I assumed were MSRP or maybe a little more for the most demanded ones, then at checkout it was almost 200$ for 2 decks! Can't even imagine what they are gonna ask for final fantasy...
