Games by James is an absolute treasure for board game enthusiasts! They have a massive, well curated catalog of games. They range from timeless classics to brand-new indie releases; all right there to browse in person. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, taking the time to answer questions and make great recommendations. When we visited in October, Paverson Games was in the store doing a live demo of their upcoming game “Luthier.” We got to sit in, learn the game firsthand, and ended up walking out with both Luthier and another of their designs, Distilled. To top it off, the designers were kind enough to sign both copies!
Very cool store! It’s nice to see an old fashioned game store still thriving amidst the popularity of Amazon and similar companies. Employees are so cool and friendly- Ian is awesome and is very knowledgeable about everything in the store as well as pop culture. Highly recommend checking this out if you live near the Mall of America or are just visiting. :)
Super cool store located on level 3 of the mall. From board games to star wars, to unique chess boards to cards, they have a whole ton of unique game options. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. If you are on the lookout for some unique games, I highly recommend checking them out!
