I recently started playing Magic and visited this store to buy cards for practice. I explained to the counter person that I was new and had only played a couple of times, hoping for starter packs. He recommended a recent release bundle that I ended up paying for. When showing my partner, who has a bit more experience than I do, I found out it was for experienced players and that it had to be built (something difficult, frustrating and discouraging for someone that has only played twice before). I don’t understand why the store didn’t offer something in my level or inform me they didn’t carry beginner cards as I easily would’ve waiting for them to have these shipped to store for me. I ended up just buying learn-to-play decks on Amazon which I wish I did in the beginning. This did happen a while ago but I just wanted to write this review to warn others and let you know that galaxy of games in Billings is worth the drive and incredibly helpful to beginners. Edit: I fixed some spelling and grammar that was bothering me. However, I also raised my review by a couple stars as the business immediately offered to try and make the situation better.
got these sets for my birthday and couldn't be happier! staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful even suggesting the second set i got and after looking through it i can definitely say it was a good suggestion! only been to this store a couple of times as i live in Billings but im coming back here for all of my d&d needs!
Workers are super friendly. Shop is clean and organized. Lots of knowledge pertaining to games of any kind here. This also has the best Community of any I've seen at a game store. I'd rate higher than 5 stars if I could.
