We were excited about coming here but unfortunately did not get to experience seeing their collection. Walked in with our disabled child and the owner immediately asked where her mask was. ( he asked in a very rude manor) I informed him she is disabled and he goes “and does she have a mask” very rudely again I Inform him he was being rude and just left. We shop at card shops all around Washington with our daughter with no issues. We spend a lot of money at many card shops and we definitely will not spend our hard earn money with this man. After we walked out he stood at his door watching us walk away. (Creepy) Update: no, a mask was not offered, you could have politely told us unfortunately it’s required in your store but instead you were rude and ugly towards my family. And actually the rule is “ People with a medical or mental health condition or disability that prevents them from wearing a mask.” Which was explained when we walked in that our daughter is disabled. You had every right to turn us away since it is your store and you can choose to allow disabled without a mask but how you choose to turn people away could have been done more professionally. If that was done we would have returned when we had a babysitter. From previous reviews, we should have avoided this place but wanted to give it a chance. And I did not make a “wise crack” I just said you don’t have to be rude. Maybe we will try again in the near future without our daughter and I will then update my review if we have a better experience. This is my honest opinion as of right now.
The store has been robbed recently so I feel for the owners, but I have to say something. One of the store owners was very rude to me, telling me “if I wanted to get into real stuff, get into sports cards” (paraphrased) after I asked about Magic (not listed on their page, I know, I also asked about Pokémon, which is). Told him that there’s value in anything. He seemed generally disinterested in being friendly or welcoming. The other owner was much nicer and diffused the tension. That being said, they were much nicer to a kid that came in after me. Before they say I’m a troll, I showed up today at around 2pm, the windows were boarded up, I was there. I would give 1 star, but the other owner being friendly raises the score some. EDIT: As a reply to the owners who have posted below. I think we are all aware that neither Magic nor Pokemon cards are sports cards (no one said that they were), but saying "Pokemon cards are not sports cards" is NOT an excuse for your behavior, especially since you list them as an item for sale in your store description. You are dodging the main criticisms. "We treat all guests with respect... No exceptions..." This is not true, as I have experienced a lack of said respect. All I ask is that you be better next time. I do, however, respect you for taking the time to reply. I wish you luck in the future, and my condolences for what happened to your store.
Although I've never been a "regular" here as far as Yugioh tournaments, I've come here to buy a lot of my cards every now and then and have had nothing but good experiences in my 8 or so years of coming through here. The owners were very helpful when me and my friend first stepped inside and they even helped my friend build a deck out of his own collection of cards plus some he bought, that was when we were 11, we're 18 now. It's got that nice comfortable atmosphere that makes you think it's a good place to chill and make friends and meet like-minded people.
