I had an awful experience at this store today, and based on some of the other reviews, it looks like this is not uncommon. I went with my friend as we are visiting from out of state and he is very into comics and video games. He was looking at a store copy of a game on the PS2 and when he was done, he reloaded it so it would return to the PS2 home screen. He didn’t want to leave the game playing as it was not playing when he started. The store worker then came out from the front and went to the PS2. As he did, he said with an extremely disrespectful attitude, “So I have a question. If it was on when you came in, why would you turn it off?”. He then stomped away without allowing my friend to explain anything. One, my friend did not turn it off and it was loading into the home screen when the store worker approached us. I even watched the worker turn it off and then back on again before stomping off. 2, this made us feel extremely uncomfortable and we ended up leaving the store, even though we were planning on buying a few items. I have never been treated so disrespectfully before, let alone in this town. If I owned this establishment, I would 100% fire this man. I come here every year, and will not be returning to this store.
They have a giant selection of comics and records especially. There's a whole wall dedicated to Star Wars merch and figures. They have some retro games, trading cards, and a bunch of other stuff.
I stopped to check out Lake Placid Comics while in town recently. They've got a wide variety of current and vintage comics, collectibles, and cards to choose from. PLUS, some vintage vinyl. Probably the best place to shop anywhere near Lake Placid. Mike, the owner, was friendly and very helpful when I asked if he had certain collectibles in stock. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Check it out.
