Great space!! Nice building too
First off, I would like to state there are great people at this location. The owner is quick and responsive to any questions asked and ones I played Magic with were great people that is the reason why I am not giving 1 star. I would have liked to give a 3 star review however this store being a Wizards of the Coast Event holder and how my experience went at a Pre-release Event I can not. I will break down my experience in two parts, Store Experience, and the Pre-Release Event Experience. Store Experience: Before reaching out online to ask the store owner I had attempted to show up at the store 4 times in person based off what the store hours had said online, all 4 times the store was closed. (I live 30 minutes away) I then had my wife who worked down the road check around 5 times in the span of 2 weeks to stop in during their "open times" that are listed online and each time they were closed. It wasn't until I messaged the owner until I could find a time they were in the shop to be able to stop in. Prices are not terrible, marked up maybe 15% over TCGPlayer prices but in-stock qty of sealed goods are very limited, the place itself is a bit run down and don't seem like they have heat since the event I went to the store was freezing and the first chair a sat in literally had the back break off from being bent and rusted. Pre-Release Experience: Myself and Brother both attended the recent Kamigawa Pre-Release event and first off this event was very disorganized and could have been organized a lot better then it was but this wasn't the worst thing of the event. At the end of the night the Event leader had somehow lost the tournament results, not sure how this happened but being an event that you pay to enter and to lose the results should be unacceptable. There is also zero prize support so if you are used to that from other events do not expect that here, unless they take my next suggestion seriously. The next night we attended Griffon's Rest's Pre-Release Event in Muskegon and this was a night and day difference on how a Pre-Release event should be held and I strongly suggest the Event Leader for M37's Gaming to attend the next Pre-Release Event held there to experience and take back to M37 Gaming how to run a successful Pre-Release Event since I think the regulars at M37 gaming are missing out. I seriously hope M37 can learn and grow as I feel this place has some serious potential being the only LGS in the greater Newaygo area.
