Been drafting Magic the Gathering here consistently for a while and there's a lot of inconsistencies within the play environment/experience that I need to speak my truth on. If you're anything like me then you should know how much of a factor environment plays into making your decision for your local game store. As an MTG player, if you choose to draft here, be prepared to expect: -Inconsistent start times which contradict established norms advertised online. Drafts were being launched at an average time of 7:40 (advertised 7:30pm) and on a whim it can change to 7pm with no notice. So if you drive out there then you're out of luck if the start time changed! -Sharing game space with other (more popular) events which will stifle your space. This is especially prevalent on Thursdays when One Piece TCG is being held. To add to this, they usually have One Piece English dub anime playing on the TV at a moderate volume. I had to draft and play out Swiss while being unable to hear my own thoughts (Yikes!) -This shop is located next to a creek which breeds mosquitos. The front door is often kept open which invites them in. I imagine to save on the A/C bill but at the cost of the players health unfortunately. (Bring mosquito repellent!) -Regional Championship Qualifiers were hosted here and followed non conforming sealed pool verification protocol which contributed heavily to a negative play experience. Standard practice was ignored in favor for a lottery system. Imagine opening your pool of playable rares only to submit them into a lottery system which is then given to other players. (Feels bad!) -Draft pods will be launched at weird numbers. This was common during Final Fantasy season where 5,6,7,9,10 man pods were being launched. There used to be a TO Clerk that was open to drafting as a stop gap to help mitigate odd draft numbers in pod but after his departure this has seldom been the case. If you are trying to develop yourself as a player with aspirations for higher level tournament play where 8 man draft pods are the gold standard then you should not expect that to be a priority here. -This has an extra "Feels Bad!" effect when you factor in that tournament entry was priced at a premium and you as a player had to face all of these issues. Getting slotted for a 10 man after forking over 30 for entry is diabolical especially if you're preparing for a tournament. -New TO Clerks are less concerned with keeping a smooth ship sailing in terms of tournament procedures. There have been times in the past where time in the round will go over by 10 minutes before any officiating individual swings by to inform the players on turns. These TO Clerks are usually playing a different TCG on the side or stepping out to have a smoke break or eat at the counter.

I was in the area and stopped by and was greeted with so much energy and respect by Johnny. We saw the Arcade and he shared his story from opening the store and the inspiration for having his card store and arcade! We had an amazing time exchanging stories about Japan and their card singles are reasonably priced! I look forward to coming in the future for magic the gathering events. And maybe I'll pop in to learn how to play some fighting games with their $5 play all day!
Great place to hangout with all your gamer buddies. Mainly for Card Games and Cards Trading. They don't carry any board games but they do allow people to bring there own baord games to play there. Their Arcade games collection is also not too bad. They very new but are trying to expand. Extremely friendly staff.
