The main store clerk Jamie is fantastic, super helpful and knows his stuff. It may look small on the outside but inside is some of the best anime merchandise I've been able to get my hands on without having to pay for a convention ticket and then buy stuff from a booth or pay scalper prices. They have amazing figures from, Gunndams, to Funko pops for animes, to some quality plushies from animes and other Japanese characters. One of my favorite things to purchase are the Gashapon toys and figures and keychains that you can get from them. They even have anime body pillows, mouse pads, wallets and even some manga. My kids favorite is getting the Pokemon stuff that they usually have there. It saves me the time of looking online on eBay or any other purchasing website and instead just go to Sweet Otaku Anime and finding what I'm looking for with them, it gets rid of the worry of "what if this possibly isn't authentic". They get all their stuff directly from Japan and they don't put up a ridiculously larger price. For the quality the price is worth it. You get a Japanese product without having to pay the ridiculous shipping that you would have to be charged for getting something directly and instead can get it in this amazing shop in Merced. Love them and will continue to go there and recommend to anybody that loves anime or Japanese culture in general. Honestly, just give it a shot! You won't regret it.
It's funny, I used to live in this city for most of my life before 2017 to live in New Mexico. A few visits later, I discover this little store, or so it appears little on the outside. I cannot make up how incredibly giant the selection is in here, for a city that in my life, would be super unassuming to me. I first came in with my friend (who still lives here). Seeing the inside, it's superbly filled to the brim and there's stuff in every little corner. Best anime store I've been to in my life, thus far. Got my trusty Totoro wallet..
For Merced, this anime shop is amazing!! They have a bit of everything anime for different tastes and interests. The clerk is very knowledgable and helpful. Good selection of figures. Currently need to call for opening but not a long wait. Great experience!
