I've played a few events here now. The play area is large and able to accommodate many players, as well as multiple events at once. The staff in my experience is not very accommodating of newcomers, and often standoffish when questions are asked. They do appear friendly with their regulars, or those they know better. Which is to be expected with any shop. However, newcomers should also feel welcomed. The prices here are fair and depending on the game of interest, their selection varies. They do have a convenient card lookup station that allows you to search their TCG Player inventory. My event experience is limited to Pokémon, so my comments in this are reflective of PTCG events. From an event organization standpoint, there is room for improvement. The pairings are read aloud by a staff member across the room from the main play tables, often once. There are TVs being used for timers, so I imagine displaying pairings and standings is possible. They do not offer match slips and ask that you tell them verbally winner/loser of a match. They do offer printed deck lists so I imagine printed match slips are possible. Displaying pairings, and providing match slips may not seem like a big deal to an organizer, however, to players, these things build confidence that the records are correct and pairings are as well. Match slips allow for physical proof of a players record in the event a digital record is incorrect. This is common, and often leads to a repairing. The Judge for the events is friendly, knowledgable, and fair.
Great card shop, all employees are super welcoming and helpfull.
I was there for a draft. So I spent about 5 hours in the store. Was a great time. The store owners were very nice and welcoming to me. Most of the other players were the same way. I've been to over 100 card shops in my life. This one was fantastic. It felt like they want players in the store. Some stores treat us like a burden.
