Went to house of cards for the first time and loved it lots of Pokémon and yugioh the owner Gary was a great help to me and my friend. Pete was there and helped me buy some cool Pokémon. 10 out of 10 place.
Went in for the first time to browse. ended up looking at Pokémon booster boxes. Snagged one for around 180$. Problem arose when the box he showed me was wrapped and sealed like i agreed too. He switched the sealed box for an unsealed half open box and slight of handed it into the bag. I did not notice till i pulled it out at home and realized not only did i pay over market AND msrp (which i knew prior) but i paid SEALED prices for something obviously tampered with. EDIT: I was nice and updated it. But the fact still remains the box I was showed was switched. No wrap and half open is not acceptable when paying over MSRP and market. EDIT 2: Gave a second chance due to saying they pay decent for single cards, upon arriving was told they do but "Not today" speaks for itself. Their was 1 other person in the shop and they didn't close for over 2 hours..... Stay far away from this place. I warned you.
We visited this shop while exploring different card stores in the area. The atmosphere was welcoming at first, and it was nice to see kids playing and enjoying the space—I could easily see myself bringing my own children here. While browsing, I came across several cards I was interested in and eventually found a Gengar Reverse Holo from EX Legend Maker. The card was not in mint condition, and a staff member initially mentioned $250 which I can see where he got that price from. After researching, I found that the same card in raw condition typically sells in the $28–$130 range. Unfortunately, the owner later stated he would only sell it for well over $1,000 raw, which is far above market value. That was disappointing, especially since I had hoped to purchase it in person. In my opinion, if you are looking for fair pricing aligned with actual market value rather than subjective assessments of condition, I would recommend checking other shops. Additionally, some staff members seemed frustrated when I asked to look at cards, which gave off a negative impression.
